This is an vintage sloping-front bureau of traditional form. The piece features a fall-front writing surface that opens to create a practical desk area, supported by brass stays, with a parquet-style wood interior panel. Beneath the writing surface are two short drawers with carved decorative panels depicting an Orientalist or exotic architectural landscape scene, above a double-door cupboard providing useful enclosed storage. The cabinet stands on carved feet and retains a warm, aged timber finish with visible grain and patina consistent with age and use. The interior has been finished in a dark paint, offering a clean and practical contrast to the exterior wood. No maker’s marks are visible. Overall, this is a well-proportioned and functional antique bureau, suitable for use as a writing desk or storage piece in a traditional or eclectic interior.

Delivery: I advertise as local pick-up but appreciate that not all of you live close enough to collect, so if it helps, I can arrange for cheap local delivery (please ask for a quote).

You can of course use any number of alternatives such as Anyvan, Shiply, Parcel2go or parcelmonkey all of whom you can find on the internet and can provide a reasonable price but less personal service. Very simple to use and many of my customers advise that they provide a good service.

Please note that if you wanted me to wrap for collection there would be a small cost for materials (cardboard, bubble wrap, tape etc).
