Hello!
We’re Emma and Shane, the hands, hearts, and occasionally paint-splattered aprons behind Durston’s Delights.
Our adventure into vintage and up-cycled treasures began back in 2008, just after the birth of our son. While taking some time at home during his first year, we found ourselves drawn to the charm and character of old furniture – the kind that tells stories. We started gently restoring and re-imagining pieces, and before long, it became more than just a hobby. In 2019, we took the leap, left our full-time jobs (Emma in building insurance and Shane in IT), and committed fully to doing what we love – giving beautiful old things a new lease on life.
We specialise in mid-century, antique, and quirky vintage items, often with a fresh twist. You'll find lovingly up-cycled furniture, one-of-a-kind pieces with character, and more recently, upholstered items too – we both completed upholstery training not long ago and we’re excited to add more of that to the mix.
Our creative life is rooted in rural living. Since 2003 until recently (2019), we've also been running a smallholding in the Cambridgeshire countryside. It’s a lifestyle that reflects everything we believe in – sustainability, self-sufficiency, and hands-on hard work.
We’re incredibly grateful for all the support we’ve received through our Etsy shop. The kind reviews, lovely messages, and shared enthusiasm for unique interiors mean the world to us.
Thanks for stopping by and supporting small, independent makers. We hope you find
something in our shop that brings a smile or adds a special touch to your home.
Warm wishes,
Emma & Shane
