See Description for delivery options

An attractive Victorian mahogany fire screen featuring an elegant freestanding design with a beautifully shaped serpentine top rail, turned side columns, decorative urn finials and four gracefully curved splayed feet. The central panel features a beautiful silky damask style fabric in pale blue tones, with an intricate woven effect floral and botanical pattern that catches the light and creates a subtle contrast between the decorative motifs and background. The richly coloured mahogany frame complements the delicate fabric beautifully, giving the piece an elegant and refined appearance. The traditional design has a lovely late Victorian to Edwardian character, making it an attractive addition to a period living room, bedroom or decorative fireplace setting. The fabric panel is supported by a shaped wooden backing board, while the turned uprights and ornamental finials add further period charm. Presented in good vintage condition with surface marks, scratches and general age related wear to the wooden frame. The fabric displays some light discolouration and signs of age, while the rear backing panel has visible splitting around several screw fixings, as shown in the photographs. Best suited to decorative use rather than as a heat-resistant fireguard.

Dimensions: height 95cm, depth 26cm, width 69cm.

Offered in used antique condition with signs of age, wear and previous use, as might be expected and is mentioned and pictured purely for accuracy. Please see photos for the best description and any marks that should be noted, Click images to enlarge.
