A handsome vintage English Gainsborough-style library armchair in a traditional Georgian design, featuring rich green leather upholstery with attractive antiqued black shading and deep diamond button tufting to both the high backrest and generously padded seat. The chair has an elegant oak-coloured wooden frame with distinctive out-swept arm supports, upholstered armrests, decorative brass stud detailing and square block legs connected by a sturdy H-shaped stretcher. Its classic proportions and traditional craftsmanship give it the appearance of a gentleman's library or country house chair, making it a wonderful statement piece for a study, home office, library or traditional living room. The green leather has an attractive aged patina, with visible rubbing, colour loss, scuffs and wear particularly to the armrests, along with natural creasing and surface marks to the upholstery. The wooden frame also displays minor age-related wear, as shown in the photographs. A characterful Gainsborough-style desk chair combining traditional English elegance with practical everyday appeal.

Dimensions: height 101cm, height to arm 67cm, height to seat 45cm, seat depth 48cm, seat width 47cm, depth 65cm, width 60cm.
