A stylish vintage mid century modern writing desk by Lucas Furniture of Old Ford Road, London E3, retaining its original manufacturer's label identifying the company as designers and manufacturers. Dating stylistically to the 1960s, this attractive desk combines warm teak coloured wood with a contrasting grey painted tubular metal frame, creating a distinctive British mid century industrial aesthetic. The rectangular desktop features a grey faux leather writing surface with wooden edging and a raised rear gallery, while the left hand pedestal houses two spacious drawers with curved metal handles and keyholes. The open kneehole provides generous legroom, with a wooden modesty panel across the rear. Its clean architectural lines, practical proportions and combination of wood and metal make it ideal as a home office desk, study table or vintage workspace. Both drawers are shown open and no keys are included. Presented in good vintage condition with visible scratches, scuffs, marks and general wear to the woodwork, writing surface and painted metal frame consistent with age and use. The original grey writing surface shows some discolouration and surface marks, while the wooden edging and rear gallery display minor knocks and wear, adding to its authentic vintage character.

Dimensions: height 67cm, depth 71cm, width 122cm, kneehole height 64cm, kneehole width 66cm.

Offered in vintage used condition with plenty signs of age, wear and previous use, as might be expected and is mentioned and pictured purely for accuracy. Please see photos for the best description and any marks that should be noted. Enlarge images
