A genuine late 19th to early 20th century Arts and Crafts ladder back chair, dating circa 1900–1920. Crafted in solid hardwood, likely oak or elm, the chair features a gently curved top rail, simple horizontal back slats and sturdy square legs united by stretchers. The hand woven rush seat is formed in a traditional envelope pattern and remains in good usable condition, complementing the honest, functional design typical of the Arts and Crafts movement. The restrained lines, quality timber and practical construction reflect the movement’s emphasis on craftsmanship and simplicity. A characterful antique chair ideal for a period dining room, farmhouse kitchen or as an accent piece in an Arts and Crafts inspired interior.
