See Description for delivery options

A striking antique American 19th century platform rocking armchair with a richly patinated walnut frame and an exceptionally decorative combination of carved and turned detailing. The tall upholstered back is crowned by a carved fan motif crest with turned spindle gallery, complemented by reeded uprights, padded armrests, multiple turned spindle supports and an elaborate stationary platform rocking mechanism. Cream upholstery to the back, seat and arms provides an attractive contrast against the warm aged timber. A substantial and highly decorative American antique rocking chair with strong period character, presented in good usable condition with expected age-related rubbing, marks, surface wear and variations to the timber finish, while the upholstery presents cleanly overall.

Dimensions: height 107cm, height to arm 68cm, height to seat 40cm, seat depth 52cm, seat width 48cm, depth 80cm, width 59cm.

Offered in vintage used condition with signs of age, wear and previous use, as might be expected and is mentioned and pictured purely for accuracy. Please see photos for the best description and any marks that should be noted. Click images to enlarge.

Delivery: I advertise as local pick-up but appreciate that not all of you live close enough to collect, so if it helps, I can arrange for cheap local delivery (please ask for a quote).

Should your require transport further afield, I have contact with an independent courier and would be pleased to obtain a delivery quote for you. Please get in touch and provide your location and postcode and I will make enquiries for you. Should you decide to proceed, the courier service is independent and arrangements & payment are required directly between you and the courier.

You can of course use any number of alternatives such as Anyvan, Shiply, Parcel2go or parcelmonkey all of whom you can find on the internet and can provide a reasonable price but less personal service. Very simple to use and many of my customers advise that they provide a good service.

Please note that if you wanted me to wrap for collection there would be a small cost for materials (cardboard, bubble wrap, tape etc).
