Dating from the late Victorian period, the bookcase features a solid boarded back, warm aged oak tones and well-executed decorative detailing to the cornice, shelf fronts and uprights. Offering excellent storage and display space for books, ceramics, collectables or decorative items, it has a timeless country house and library appearance. The bookcase remains solid and sturdy with a pleasing aged patina acquired over many years of use. There are surface marks, scuffs and wear to the top and shelves consistent with age and use, as shown in the photographs, but nothing that detracts from its practical use or overall character.
